1. Information You May Provide (Optional)

• Profile details: Name, email, phone number (entered at your discretion)
• Guardian contact details: Name and email address of your designated guardian (if the alert feature is enabled)
• Location: Approximate GPS coordinates, only if you explicitly enable location sharing for alerts
• App settings: Notification time, selected alert sound, check-in preferences, and personal note

2. Information Collected Automatically

• Consent record: When you accept the Terms of Service, we log the timestamp, app version, and terms version for legal compliance
• Alert delivery logs: When an alert email is sent, we log the timestamp, alert type, delivery status, and recipient count (not the recipient's email address) for reliability monitoring

We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, or tracking technologies.

3. How We Use Information

• To schedule reminders and display your settings inside the App
• To send an alert email to your designated guardian when you trigger an alert or miss a check-in beyond your configured threshold (only if enabled)
• To include your approximate location in the alert message (only when location sharing is enabled)
• To respond to support requests sent to support@okcheck.app
• To maintain consent and delivery logs for legal compliance and service reliability

4. Third-Party Services

When you enable alert emails, the information required to deliver the email (recipient address, subject, message body) is transmitted to our email delivery provider:

• Resend (resend.com) — for email delivery. Resend processes this data solely to deliver the email on our behalf. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — for serverless compute (Lambda) and API routing. Data is processed in the US-East-1 (N. Virginia) region.

We do not sell, share, or provide your personal information to any other third party.

5. Data Storage

• On-device: All app settings, check-in history, and personal information are stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage. No user account is required.
• Server-side: Alert delivery logs (timestamp, status, alert type) are retained for up to 90 days for troubleshooting and legal compliance, then automatically deleted.
• Email content: Email message content is not stored on our servers after delivery. It exists only in the sender's (our server) and recipient's email systems.

6. Data Deletion

You can delete all locally stored data at any time by deleting the App from your device. For server-side log deletion requests, contact support@okcheck.app. See also: Data Deletion.

7. Children's Privacy

App Store age rating: The App is rated 4+ on the Apple App Store. This rating reflects the App's content only (no violence, adult themes, or objectionable material) and does not imply that children of any age may independently use the App without parental involvement.

Users under 13 — parental consent required: The App involves configuration of personal information (name, email, phone number) and guardian contact details for emergency alert purposes. Because of the nature of this data, users under the age of 13 must have verifiable parental or legal guardian consent before using the App or providing any personal information. Parents or legal guardians may set up and manage the App on behalf of a minor.

COPPA compliance: We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verified parental consent, in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App without parental consent, please contact us at support@okcheck.app and we will promptly review and delete the information as required.

Recommended use: The core features of OK? — Safety & Wellness Alert — including configuring guardian contacts and sending emergency alerts — are intended to be set up by a parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult when used by or on behalf of a minor.

8. Your Choices

• You can use the App without providing any personal information.
• You can disable alert emails at any time by not configuring a guardian contact.
• You can disable location sharing at any time in the App settings.
• You can delete the App and all local data at any time.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above indicates when the latest version took effect.
